Methodology
How we calculate carbon impact
Every number on Wookco follows the same four steps, so travelers can see exactly where their impact comes from.
1. Baseline
We estimate the emissions of a standard version of each trip — transport, accommodation and activities — using standardized CO₂e emission factors.
2. Low-carbon difference
We compare it with the Wookco version (EV transfers, renewable-powered stays, local food). The difference is the CO₂e shown on each listing, e.g. “-14.2 kg CO₂e”.
3. Restoration funding
Part of every booking funds verified restoration projects such as mangrove replanting and agroforestry.
4. Verification
Project results are checked with satellite monitoring and third-party verification, then published in the Impact Hub.
