On this tour you will learn the story of the explorers who had the mission to find Rapa Nui from the mythical island of Hiva and how thanks to them this beautiful story called Rapa Nui began. They are represented in the Ahu Akivi. In addition, our experienced guide will take you through the caves where they anciently lived and lived in community. You will be surrounded by mystery and adventure. You will visit the place where the pukao was made, which represents the hair of the moais and was made in another place on the island with a different rock.
The Ahu Akivi of Easter Island are 7 moais that face the Pacific Ocean and represent the 7 explorers that were sent by King Hotu to Matua before his colonizing trip. According to various studies, the Ahu Akivi were built between 1442 and 1600 and it is estimated that they were restored between 1960 and 1961. It is 90 meters long and has a 38-meter central platform. One of the most striking things was that these moais were built aligned with the points where the sun rises in autumn and spring. On September 22 and March 20 of each year, day and night last exactly the same. This was of great help to the farmers of Easter Island, since it warned them of the change in climate and they prepared the land so that their crops were successful.
Ana Te Pahu is the largest cave on the entire island (exceeds 7 kilometers in length) and is undoubtedly an incredible tour for all who want to enjoy the natural wonders of Easter Island.
Puna Pau is a small extinct volcano where the pukao, the red headdresses that crowned the statues on Easter Island, were extracted and carved. It is the place where the grass is greener on the entire island. You have a beautiful 360° view. You have to be careful with the wind, it is very strong at the top.
