Warm layers: Temperatures at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park can drop, especially in the evening. A warm jacket, sweater, or cover-up is essential.

Rain jacket or umbrella: Weather conditions can change rapidly within the park. While we have rain jackets and umbrellas available in the van, we encourage you to bring your own for personal comfort and fit.

Comfortable shoes: Sturdy closed-toe shoes are required for walking on uneven terrain within the park.

Reusable water bottle: Stay hydrated! (Water refills available in the van).

Camera: To capture the incredible and awe-inspiring volcanic landscapes.

Sunscreen and sunglasses: For protection during daytime exploration.

Personal snacks: Light snacks and refreshments are provided; feel free to bring any additional personal snacks you prefer.

Important Volcanic Safety Information:The dynamic environment of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park may present unique conditions. Airborne ‘Pele’s hair’ (fine, glass-like fibers) or volcanic ash can sometimes be present, which may cause skin and eye irritation. For your protection, we strongly recommend:

Long pants

Long-sleeved top or jacket

A hat (to protect hair and scalp)

An extra set of clothes (in case you need to change due to exposure to volcanic ash or Pele’s hair).
